The welcome ritual held during the first day of the ninth lunar month to invite the gods.

The Zhuo Tou (桌头) of the temple, Yi Sheng, carries the Urn above his head while making their way back to the temple, reflecting the sacredness of the Urn in the receiving ceremony. The Zhuo Tou is responsible for interpreting the spirit mediums’ words.

Raising the Nine Lamps is an important element of the receiving ceremony which marks the start of the festival.

Consultation sessions were conducted during the festival which encompasses the stamping of the Nine Emperor Gods Seal on the back or clothing of the devotees as well as seeking advice from the Nine Emperor Gods and Zhong Tan Yuan Shuai.
